France cites Google advertising as “possible” abuse

Google abuseFrance’s Competition Authority said Tuesday that Google occupies a strongly dominant position in the online advertising market linked to Internet searches and that it possibly violated competition law.

Following a review requested by the government, the FCA said it “considers that Google holds a dominant position on the advertising market linked to search engines.”

Google bid to buy Groupon ‘fails’

Online discount shopping site Groupon has rejected a multi-billion-dollar takeover bid by Internet search giant Google, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The Tribune cited sources close to the matter as saying the Chicago-based startup decided to remain independent. Google was believed to be offering more than five billion dollars for Groupon.

The Monde.fr bloggers took a sacred blow on the pif

I’m nothing to most of you, the Monde.fr blogging platform was closed for two long days-54 hours exactly – to inadvertent human error.

The worst is that the consequences are disastrous for most authors because some components of blogs, photos, and sounds) erased during the incident and therefore no longer appear.
