Johan Bruyneel, the manager of Team RadioShack has released the details of 14 cyclists in contention for the 9 places with the team’s 2010 Tour de France programme.
The first-year ProTour outfit’s long term programme contains several experienced Tour de France entrants, led by seven time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong.
The 14-rider list also features: Levi Leipheimer, Andreas Klöden, Haimar Zubeldia, Gert Steegmans, Chris Horner, Janez Brajkovic, Jason McCartney, Yaroslav Popovych, Grégory Rast, Dmitriy Muravyev, Sérgio Paulinho, Sébastien Rosseler and Tomas Vaitkus.
Bruyneel said Team RadioShack’s final Tour de France roster will probably be determined in June.
Barring the unexpected, Armstrong, Leipheimer, Kloden, Zubeldia, all top-five GC finishers along with Popovych, Rast and Steegmans are strong bets for the programme.
It is going to be intriguing to find out if Bruyneel chooses Americans Horner and McCartney with Vaitkus and Paulinho also solid prospects.
