What is the cheapest ferry to go from Portsmouth to france?

I’m planning in going to the coast of France beginning of september. What is the cheapest option to go from Portsmouth to Calais or other place in France west of Calais?

I found for 45 pounds from Dover to Calais. And also from Portsmouth to Caen, which would cut almost 4 hours of car trip, almost 200 pounds.

Anyone know a better suggestion?

The cheapest crossing is Dover to Dunkirk.I studied the crossings as we were going to drive to Spain this winter.
