Toulouse d’été is celebrating its seventh sumeer time fesitval and aims to be even more innovative. Created at the initiative of the municipality, the season of music continues to be a development of the regional scene in and around Toulouse, both in the field of classical and contemporary music.

Its goal, to be a real snapshot of musical vitality and reveal to the public the quality of new and exceptional artists, with emphasis on young talent,  whether classical artists and musicians from various scenes – song, jazz, new folk music, rock, hip-hop, etc.

For the 2010 Festival, Toulouse d’été goes even further to provoke encounters between Toulouse and artists from different backgrounds, to promote a wider variety of  music from the local community and attract visitors.

Toulouse d’été will be the rendezvous of Europe, the Mediterranean or Africa. A festival to exchange and which is exported, since a sample of this edition is presented in preview in Zaragoza as part of Ida y vuelta and another will join the Jazz Festival Budapest in the autumn.

Toulouse was also resolutely open to the city. Music nomadic encounter an architecture and an amazing heritage. Cloister of the Jacobins in the Halle aux Grains Garden Raymond VI in more unusual places such as station Matabiau, this will not be less than 16 sites that will be invested. Visit Toulouse.

Finally, Toulouse has been consistently lead the meeting with the public, to consider to best marshal: Toulouse, visiting friends, but also prevented the public hospitals or prisons, new audiences. True to its policy of democratization, the rates are attractive and more than 40% of the concerts are free, including the musical breaks held in Toulouse Plage.

And if Toulouse were celebrating a huge birthday: we would celebrate this year Pergolesi and Wilhelm Friedmann Bach, Schumann and Chopin, of course Django Reinhardt, they all have in common to be born in the year 10, only the old change …

And if Toulouse were amusing genres, we would move from the piano, chamber ensemble, the operetta in the orchestra, singing sacred to secular songs, world music to jazz, forming a detour to the song, improvisation, electro, rock, hip hop and the unclassifiable …

And if Toulouse was akin to a thrilling treasure hunt in the city, which might pass on a whole host of instruments and music that resonate with the scene, a stroll from the banks of the gilthead Jardin Raymond VI Cathedral of St. Etienne at the Cloister of the Jacobins, Saint-Pierre des Cuisines at the Halle aux Grains or the Casino, through the station Matabiau and the banks of the Garonne …

And if Toulouse were revealed an extraordinary wealth with this ever-changing picture of a local scene of the most active and most creative …

And if Toulouse were invited him to performers from the Mediterranean, Europe, Africa to come and meet the artists from Toulouse, for the sheer pleasure of playing music together …
